Brea, CA – May 2008… Altinex, a leading manufacturer of Modular AV Solutions™, is pleased to announce the introduction of the MT2488CV CourtView 8 courtroom AV control and integration system. Based upon the flexibility of the company’s MultiTasker® modular, card-based, and freely configurable AV system with the streamlined interface capabilities of the legendary Altinex MultiTouch™ touch screen panels, the MT2488CV CourtView 8 provides all the necessary cables, connectors, switching equipment, control panels, programming, and step by step setup instructions to assemble a state-of-the-art AV system optimized for today’s courtroom environment.
At the heart of the courtroom design is the MultiTasker® Universal Audio Video integration system. The CourtView 8 consists of an 8x8 VGA-UXGA switcher, which is used to connect 4 laptops, 1 document camera, and 2 DVD sources to display devices such as plasma or LCD video monitors, projectors, and the judge’s monitor. The DVD source passes through a scalar that converts YPbPr output to a VGA compatible signal. Additionally, an extra VGA input is available for expansion of yet another computer.
The output from the VGA matrix switcher is fed to 4 plasma or LCD displays and a screen projector—providing a wealth of options for viewing materials during a court session. To accommodate video recording equipment, the MT2488CV includes a video scan reducer that converts computer signals to Composite or S-Video format. This configuration facilitates easy recording of a variety of computer and video signals—enabling the entire court proceeding to be well documented.
All VGA signals from the various inputs to the switcher, and from the switcher to the displays, are routed through high quality VGA cable. This VGA cable consists of a coaxial cable that can carry VGA signals over 300 feet and enables easy cable routing during installation.
Audio inputs are handled by an 8-in / 1-out audio switcher with a volume control. Laptop and DVD audio signals are routed through the switcher and then connected to an external power amplifier through a balanced audio output connector, thus ensuring clean signals free from hum or other distractions. The output from the switcher can be connected as balanced or unbalanced output—providing the ability to interface with a wide variety of audio equipment. Two additional inputs are available for other audio equipment.
The CourtView 8 system also has IR (infra-red) control ports available for controlling VCR’s, DVD’s, plasma or LCD displays, and projectors. Four IR outputs are designed for controlling plasma or LCD displays and an additional RS-232 output is used to control a large screen projector. Two extra outputs are available for controlling VCR/DVD devices.
Comprehensive control over the entire system is accomplished by two Altinex CP450-010 MultiTouch panels. These two panels can be independently used to switch inputs to outputs, adjust volume, select presets, and turn off video on demand. All of the programming for the system is included and ready to run out of the box. The system also includes a Judge Override button, which enables the judge to shut down the system if a situation demands it. When this button is pressed, all monitors except the judge’s are blanked.
Altinex President and CEO Jack Gershfeld commented on the company’s new MT2488CV CourtView 8 system. “The CourtView 8 represents the perfect combination of hardware and software components that bring a high level of functionality and efficiency to court system design, specification, and installation,” said Gershfeld. “This package brings an unprecedented level of AV system control and management capability to the modern courtroom. I’m confident those who specify and install these systems will find much to like.”
The new Altinex MT2488CV CourtView 8 system carries a MSRP price of $9,595. The CourtView 8 is available now.
