New NetLinx PDU Is Environmentally-Friendly Way to Supply High- and Low-Voltage Power
LAS VEGAS – June 09, 2010 – AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, today announced the NetLinx® Power Management Power Distribution Unit (NXA-PDU-1508-8), a unique power distribution unit that allows users to monitor, manage and control the power consumption of audiovisual and IT devices at a rack level. AMX is demonstrating the energy-saving NetLinx PDU in booth C4417at InfoComm 2010, being held June 9 – 11 in Las Vegas.
This 1RU rack-mounted NetLinx PDU adds innovative power control by monitoring energy consumption of each connected component, and restricts power to any or all devices when not in use. With eight individually monitored and controlled AC outlets, built-in 12-volt power supply, two sets of four AxLink Bus Strips and power monitoring for each outlet, the NetLinx PDU is the ideal way to decrease wasteful standby power expenditures while preventing possible damage to components from overheating.
"An important and growing concern I hear from our dealers is about energy management," said Doug Hall, AMX Product Manager. "This new NetLinx PDU is the only power distribution unit on the market with low voltage, high voltage and control distribution – delivering the perfect AV power management strip for every rack."
The ideal of control at the rack level is an innovative approach to power management. With the NetLinx PDU users not only gain the benefit of reducing carbon-footprint but operational advantages including the capability of individually controlling devices down to the plug level for remote rebooting eliminating the need for an on-site service visit for dealers. The NetLinx PDU also features a sensor which can monitor temperature in the rack to prevent potential overheating situations.
AMX designed the NetLinx PDU with flexibility of installation as well as operation in mind as it supports U.S. and international voltage standards and provides dealers a simple method to offer their customers an energy-saving solution. With native NetLinx control over AxLink, the NetLinx PDU is also easy to integrate with AMX control systems and AMX Resource Management Suite (RMS).
