Jan. 10, 2024 - Although direct view LED is becoming more common in pro AV installations, projection continues to be popular. In fact, you can find projection performing at peak levels in more spaces than ever. Here are five reasons you can feel confident in peak performance when you choose Draper electric projection screen solutions!
The right viewing surface for the right space.
Remember when wherever you saw a projection screen, chances are it was white? And often for projection to work properly all the lights had to be turned off. With the development of screens that reject ambient light, however, you are able to leave the lights on to take notes while watching video. Our TecVision line of premium surfaces includes several ALR surfaces, plus whites of various gains designed to improve projector performance.
A perfectly flat viewing surface.
For the best possible projection experience, one should use a viewing surface that is tensioned. Our retractable projection screens are kept perfectly flat by a tab tension system. We use CNC equipment to cut out the tabs so they are an integrated part of the surface. We then RF weld the tab closed. A tensioning cord is threaded through these tabs and provides the necessary tensioning system for a flat surface.
Mounting location flexibility.
Sometimes the best place to mount a screen is on the wall or ceiling. Other times it's best to recess it above the ceiling or suspend it high above a stage or performance space.
Draper projection solutions cover all the bases.
Our Access series of screens hide the screen above the ceiling when not in use. This is the original "case first" projection screen, allowing the housing to be installed early in the construction phase, and the surface to be added later when the site has been cleaned up.
The Acumen series of screen models mounts to the ceiling or wall. These screens are meant to look beautiful even when not in use. Our Premier and Targa screens are also surface mounted but can be suspended or recessed.
You get more for less.
LED videowalls continue to get cheaper and increase in size. However, especially for large spaces, projection is often the more affordable option. There are a variety of price points depending on the performance you need, and you can often save money on the projector with the correct viewing surface choice. Our Paragon electric screens are available up to 28 feet wide! And with a fixed screen we can make it even bigger – more than 2 times larger in fact!
We back up our products.
A few years ago we became the first screen manufacturer to offer a 5-year warranty on our tab tension system. Then with the development of our Acumen series of screens, we decided to take it a step further and truly demonstrate our confidence in our product quality. Acumen screens come with a 7-year warranty, and we extended the 5-year warranty to all of our other screens – not just the tab tension system!
