ATLANTA/PARIS — April 20, 2022 — VITEC, a worldwide leader in advanced video encoding and streaming solutions, is pleased to announce that its latest broadcast quality openGear® (OG) card encoder, the MGW Diamond+ OG, will make its debut at the NAB SHOW, Las Vegas Convention Center, April 24-27. The new MGW Diamond+ OG is a 4K/Multichannel HD, HEVC, H.264 and MPEG-2 encoder with SDI and SMPTE-2110 input in an openGear card format. This latest addition to VITEC's high-quality encoding range is ideal for any contribution or point-to-point streaming application over IP within production studios and broadcast facilities.
"VITEC is thrilled to return to the NAB SHOW and announce the MGW Diamond+ OG, a high-end openGear encoder card entirely dedicated to broadcasters," says Richard Bernard, Head of Product Management, Video Delivery Systems, at VITEC. "It's the world's largest show for media, entertainment and technology and, as such, reaches a wide range of broadcast professionals interested in the latest innovations for their contribution workflow. With support for 4K HDR, HEVC and SMPTE 2110 ingest, we are looking forward to welcoming NAB SHOW delegates to Booth N4420 and introducing them to the future of broadcast IP contribution with our MGW Diamond+ OG."
Typical applications for the MGW Diamond+ OG include contribution; site-to-site primary distribution; remote production over constrained or unconstrained networks, as well as remote/at home production over the internet/REMI. Featuring Ultra High Definition (UHD) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) support, HEVC, H.264 and MPEG-2 encoding, and providing advanced networking capabilities, the MGW Diamond+ OG can ingest and stream up to 4K60p from its 12G-SDI inputs and SMPTE 2110 input over 25Gbit SFP interface. The card supports 4:2:2 10-bit, interlaced and progressive encoding, multichannel audio, as well as Zixi™, SRT, RIST and Pro-MPEG transport protocol protection technology for reliable video and audio transmission over lossy networks.
Thanks to the openGear scalable design, up to 10 UHD channels or 40 HD channels can be delivered via a 2RU chassis. The flexible design of the chassis allows users to mix and match compatible openGear cards such as the MGW Ace Decoder OG for bi-directional contribution links.
